Abstract

To inject or not to inject: CDI is the question
This talk introduces CDI (Contexts and Dependency
Injection) a brand new JSR of Java EE 6. Antonio
Goncalves will explain dependency injection and will
then focus on other CDI capabiliities such as
contextual lifecycle, configuration, interception,
event notification… If you are fed up of using
String based configuration, come to this talk and
have a type-safe journey on CDI.

Speaker bio

Antonio Goncalves is a former BEA consultant. He
currently manages his own software architecture
consultancy, specializing in Java/Java EE and has
been using application servers and Java EE in large
scale projects since 1999. Antonio also lectures at
the Cnam University in Paris and he has written
several articles and talked at many conferences on
Java EE. He is the author of the Java EE 5 (using
GlassFish) book, a JCP Expert Member on Java EE 6 and
EJB 3.1 and is the founding president of the Paris
Java User Group He is also a member of the French
Java Podcast Les Castcodeur.
